Yala is renowned for its high density of leopards, making it one of the best places in the world to spot these elusive big cats. The park is also known for its elephants, sloth bears, diverse birdlife, and beautiful landscapes.

Yala National Park is located in the southeastern region of Sri Lanka, spanning across the Hambantota and Monaragala districts.

The park is open from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Safaris usually take place in the early morning or late afternoon.

The best time to visit is during the dry season (February to June) when animals gather around waterholes, making wildlife sightings more frequent. However, the park is open year-round.
